Coronavirus: Mobile testing unit in Bradford

Coronavirus: Mobile testing unit in Bradford

Published by Harry Long at 6:45am 20th July 2020.

A walk-in coronavirus testing unit is in Bradford this week.

It will make it easier for people in Otley, Ilkley and Burley-in-Wharfedale who think they might be infected to get tested quickly.

People are advised to make an appointment before they arrive at the mobile unit, which is run by armed forces staff as part of the national coronavirus testing programme.

The unit is available for anyone who has symptoms of Covid-19, such as a high temperature, a new cough, or a change in sense of taste or smell, or thinks they may have the virus.

The mobile unit will be at Myra Shay, Barkerend Road, Bradford, BD3 8QX from 10am to 4pm on the following days:

  • Monday 20 July
  • Tuesday 21 July
  • Thursday 23 July
  • Friday 24 July
  • Saturday 25 July

A face covering will need to be worn, and social distancing must also be followed at all times, when at the site and while travelling to and from it.

Bradford District's first walk-in testing centre in Centenary Square in the city centre opened a few weeks earlier. It is used for both pre-booked appointments, as well as a limited number of drop-in tests. Results should be made available within 24-72 hours.

You can make an appointment here.
