Yorkshire band "Skinny Living" have their eyes set on a great 2020 and have been chatting to Stray FM.

  • Lead singer Ryan Johnston was born to sing.
  • Their new EP "No Messiah" has had the best start to any of the band's previous releases.
  • In January, the trio head out on tour with Kaiser Chiefs.

Meet "Skinny Living," a charismatic trio based in West Yorkshire and consisting of Belfast-born lead singer Ryan Johnston, plus Yorkshire lads Will Booth and Danny Hepworth.

From an early age, Ryan had a passion for music but wasn't always forthcoming with sharing poems he wrote behind closed doors.

Fast forward several years and a move to Yorkshire, Ryan met fellow band mates Will and Danny at an open-mic night in Wakefield and from there, they began penning songs which has most recently resulted in their new EP, "No Messiah."

The guys have played over 250 shows in the past two years, graduating from busking sessions on the streets, to a huge support slot at Elland Road with Kaiser Chiefs, with performances in fans’ living rooms, churches, festivals, pubs and clubs along the way. Their music is making a connection with fans and Ryan thinks that is the highest compliment you can get.

They're now set for further shows in 2020 alongside Kaiser Chiefs and their own headline shows at Heaven in London on 23rd April and Stylus in Leeds on 25th April.
