Harrogate will welcome a World Cup winner when it hosts its biggest game of cricket in years.

Australian Glenn Maxwell is expected to feature for a Yorkshire side preparing for the T20 Blast.

Also included in the line-up are England stars Tim Bresnan, Adil Rashid and Liam Plunkett.

They'll take on a Harrogate Cricket Club IX in a 20 overs-a-side contest at the County Ground on St George's Road.

The club previously hosted Yorkshire matches as recently as the mid-90s, as part of the Festival of Cricket.

Chairman Miles Rawlings told Stray FM: "We used to have the festivals up until about 1995 and losing them was a major blow to all our grounds really.

"But to have them back now in this new format of Twenty20 is terrific."
