A group of girls at St Aidan's High School in Harrogate are celebrating after finishing fourth in the National Indoor Cricket Finals.

The Under-15 team, who were recently crowned North of England champions, faced some stiff competition at Lord's last week.

In their third match, against South Dartmoor School from Devon, the St Aidan's girls had their hopes of a top three finish shattered.

The final game was against Felsted School from Essex.

A closely fought match resulted in a loss for St Aidan's by just 13 runs and Felsted were crowned national champions.

St Aidan's team coach Amy Lyons said: "They've trained really hard every Friday, they obviously play a lot outside of school and they've just really gelled, considering we've got girls that are in Year 10, Year 9 and Year 7.

"They're just a really nice bunch to work with and they work hard for each other."
