Ilkley Cycle Races: Here's what you need to know

Ilkley is once again gearing up for a big cycling event. 

  • The Ilkley Cycle Races take place tonight  
  • There'll be a men and women's race, as well as an under 14s and under 16s race 
  • The course starts and ends on The Grove 
  • There will be some road closures in place 

The Ilkley Cycle Races return tonight. 

As well as a men and women's race, there'll also be events for under 14s and under 16s. 

The race route will be closed from 5.30pm, with the first race getting underway just before 6pm. 

Here are all the timings: 

4:00 pm    Barriers set out around the circuit
5:30 pm    Circuit closed
5:55 pm    Under 14s race
6:25 pm    Under 16s race
7:00 pm    Women’s race (E/1/2/3)
7:45 pm    3rd & 4th cat. Men
8:40 pm    Men’s race (E/1/2)
9:50 pm    Circuit re-opens (except The Grove)
9:55 pm    Prize presentation
10:30 pm  The Grove re-opens

The racing will start and finish on The Grove outside Bettys. The circuit passes through Ridings Road, Albany Walk, Parish Ghyll Drive, Wilton Road and Grove Road.  

There will be road closures in place. 

On-street parking will be suspended on the race circuit during the event. 

Inside the circuit, traffic will be controlled at the junction of Oakburn Road and Princess Road, and also at the junction of St. Margaret’s Terrace and Back Parish Ghyll Road. 

Vehicles won't be able to access Parish Ghyll Road.
