Everything you need to know about the second day of cycling at the UCI Road World  Championships, as the juniors get underway.

  • The cycling continues on Monday 23rd September 2019.
  • Both the Men’s and Women’s Junior Individual Time Trial events taking place around Harrogate.
  • The two races start and finish in Harrogate
  • Road closures begin from 07:00 and end by 18:00.

Which races are taking place at the UCI World Championships on Monday 23rd September?

There are two races taking place on Monday 23rd September, the day starts with the Women's Junior Individual Time Trial. That is then followed by the Men's Junior Individual Time Trial.

Both of the events take place on the Harrogate Circuit, starting and finishing adjacent to the Fan Zone on West Park.

  • Harrogate (28km) - Men's Junior Individual Time Trial.
  • Harrogate (14km) - Women's Junior Individual Time Trial.

There will be long road closures in central and western Harrogate for these events.

Where and when are the roads closed for the UCI Road World Championships on Monday 23rd September?

As the event is taking place entirely on the Harrogate circuit in central and western parts of the town, the closures will be during the day in the following places:

Kings Road & Cheltenham Parade (A61)

Open: 00:00 - 07:00
Completely closed: 09:30 - 11:45 and 12:30 - 16:10
Roads re-open by: 16:10

Parliament Street (A61) & West Park (A61)

Open: 00:00 - 07:00
Completely closed: 07:00 - 18:00
Roads re-open by: 18:00

A reminder it’s managed access only outside these times.

Where can I watch the cycling at the UCI World Championships on Monday 23rd September?

The UCI World Championship Fan Zone will also be open from 09:00 - 18:30, including views of the finish, televised race action on the big screen, entertainment and loads of stalls. The Fan Zone will be located on the West Park Stray.
