Everything you need to know about the fifth day of cycling for the UCI Road World Championships, as Harrogate hosts the finish for the first elite mens event.

  • The cycling continues on Wednesday 25th September 2019.
  • The Men's Elite Individual Time Trial takes place.
  • The single race starts in Northallerton and ends in Harrogate.
  • The route takes in Bedale, Masham, Ripley and Killinghall.
  • Road closures begin from 07:00 and end by 18:00. 
  • NOTE: The Harrogate Circuit is in use for training in the morning, but not in the race course for the afternoon. See road closure details below for more.

Where and when are the roads closed for the UCI World Road Cycling Championships on Wednesday 25th September?

There will be a number of road closures throughout the day.

  • Amber means the race route is closed but designated route crossing and access points are open.
  • Red means the race route and designated route crossing and access points are closed.
  • Outside of red and amber times the roads are open.

Harrogate Road Closures

As Harrogate is the finish and main hub for all UCI Road World Championship events, there are longer road closures in place.

On Sunday Wednesday 25th September 2019 the road closures in Harrogate will be as follows:

Kings Road & Cheltenham Parade (A61)

Open: 00:00 - 09:30 and 12:00 - 13:00
Completely closed: 09:30 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 16:00
Roads re-open by: 16:00

Parliament Street (A61) & West Park (A61)

Open: 00:00 - 07:00
Completely closed: 07:00 - 18:00
Roads re-open by: 18:00

A reminder that these roads are managed access only outside of the above times until 1st October.

Where can I watch the cycling at the UCI World Championships on Wednesday 25th September?

The UCI World Championship Fan Zone will also be open from 10:00 - 18:30, including views of the finish, televised race action on the big screen, entertainment and loads of stalls. The Fan Zone will be located on the West Park Stray.
