Everything you need to know about the sixth day of cycling for the UCI Road World Championships, as Harrogate is the finishing point for the Men's Junior Road Race.

  • The cycling continues on Thursday 26th September 2019.
  • The Men's Junior Road Race takes place.

Where and when are the roads closed for the UCI World Road Cycling Championships on Thursday 26th September?

There will be a number of road closures throughout the day, with the longer closures being in place around central and western areas of Harrogate.

As those who've experienced the Tour de Yorkshire will know, cycle races involve short rolling road closures along the route. These normally start to come in around 30 minutes to 1 hour before the race is due through, and then re-open shortly after the race has passed through (usually within 15 minutes).

As Harrogate is the finish and main hub for all UCI World Road Cycling Championship events, there are longer road closures in place.

On Thursday 26th September 2019 the road closures in Harrogate will be as follows:

Kings Road & Cheltenham Parade (A61)

Completely closed: 14:00 - 16:00
Roads re-open by: 16:00

Parliament Street (A61) & West Park (A61)

A reminder that these roads are managed access only until 1st October outside of the above closure times.

DAY 6 ROAD CLOSURES: Harrogate Area

Where can I watch the cycling at the UCI World Championships on Thursday 26th September?

The UCI Road World Championship Fan Zone will also be open from 11:00 - 18:30, including views of the finish, televised race action on the big screen, entertainment and loads of stalls. The Fan Zone will be located on the West Park Stray.

You are welcome to watch from any part of the route on the side of the road - just make sure you stay safe and back from the road! For the best spots to see all the action watch the video below!
