LISTEN: UCI: Otley's Lizzie Deignan crosses the line

Lizzie Deignan puts in a brilliant effort

  • The Women's Elite Road Race has finished in Harrogate.
  • The athletes travelled 150km from Bradford to Harrogate.
  • The Netherlands took Gold and Silver, with Bronze awarded to Australia.

Home advantage wasn't enough for Otley's Lizzie Deignan as she finishes the Women's Elite Road Race at the UCI Road World Championships 2019.

The 30-year-old fought hard across the 150km course from Bradford to Harrogate.

The mum-of-one finished the race in the peloton - coming in at 31st position.

 

 

The Netherlands took the haul of medals on offer.

Gold went to Annemiek Van Vleuten with team mate Anna Van Derbreggen taking Silver.

Australian Amanda Spratt settled for Bronze.
