Police have issued CCTV images of two men they want to speak to following an incident at the Co-operative store on Main Street in Ingleton.

On the evening of 10 October, two men went into the store and asked the shop assistant to change three £20 notes into £10 notes.

The assistant provided a mixture of £5 and £10 notes.

The men then said they wanted 10p coins rather than notes, but the shop could not provide this and the men handed the money back.

newsHowever, when staff checked the store’s takings later on, they found that some money was missing.

Police are asking for help to identify the two men shown in the images.

Officers are also warning other retailers to beware of the practice of customers who try to confuse shop assistants when they ask for change.

Anyone who can help identify the pair is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101.
