Several flood warnings have been issued in North Yorkshire and the Wharfe Valley following heavy rain overnight.

People in Ilkley woke up to a warning for the River Wharfe, with properties on Denton Road, Middleton Avenue and the cricket ground all at risk.

In Wetherby, a warning was issued around The Old Mill, car park, tennis club and Wetherby Grange.

At Bolton Bridge, properties on both banks of the river, including Red Lion Farm, Devonshire Cottages and The Devonshire Arms, were affected.

Elsewhere in North Yorkshire, flood warnings were issued for the River Ure at Masham, around The Old Mill and surrounding properties, and at Roecliffe Caravan Park near Boroughbridge.

Environment Agency advice states that when a warning is issued, immediate action is required.

Last night's rain also led to a number of car passengers being rescued after a river burst its banks in Wensleydale.

Vehicles became stranded on the A684 between Leyburn and Hawes.
