The second Ilkley Film Festival has got under way.

It opens with Oscar contender 'The Theory of Everything' and closes with a screening of Cannes Film Festival winner 'The Tribe'.

Around 4,000 people have already put their names down for tickets, which is up on last year's total of 3,000.

The event will feature 18 premieres and five live accompanied screenings.

Oscar winner Dame Judi Dench is once again its patron.

Box office hit 'Paddington' (pictured), starring Colin Firth and Imelda Staunton, is the first of several family-friendly screenings for half-term.
