40 years on from the day tragedy struck the Dales, Britain's worst ever road accident has been remembered.

32 passengers and the driver were killed when a coach crashed at Dibble's Bridge, on the B6265 between Greenhow and Hebden.

Its brakes failed on a 1 in 6 hill, with the vehicle overturning and ending up in a nearby garden.

A memorial service marking the anniversary was held in Thornaby, near Stockton, where many of the victims had travelled from.
