People in part of Skipton are tackling the problem of dog fouling.

With the help of Yorkshire Housing, residents on the Greatwood and Horseclose Estate have launched a Green Dog Walkers scheme.

It encourages dog owners to sign a pledge.

PCSO Amy Sharrad, who covers the Greatwood and Horseclose Estate, said: "Everyone who signs up for it signs a pledge saying they'll make sure they clean up after their dogs, they'll encourage others around them to do that and they'll approach people in a friendly manner and encourage them to also pick up their dog waste.

"If they do sign up, they get free dog poo bags and they get a free lead or a free collar as well.

"The Greatwood and Horseclose residents have got together to come up with this initiative and help each other out really, and make it a cleaner and safer environment for the residents."
