People across Yorkshire are being urged to hold yellow-themed fundraising events in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Following its hugely successful Yellow Yorkshire campaign last year, the charity is encouraging schools, businesses, community groups and organisations to get involved in this year's campaign on Friday 3 July.

Regional Fundraising Manager Bob Smailes said: "We had a brilliant response last year from people across North Yorkshire who held a wide range of events - from yellow-themed bake sales to static yellow bike challenges.

"We're hoping as many people as possible will get behind Yellow Yorkshire Day 2015, raising as much as they can for us but also having lots of fun in the process."

The charity provides a rapid response emergency service to five million people across Yorkshire and attends over 1,000 missions a year.

It needs £12,000 each day to keep its two helicopters flying, which is equivalent to £4.4 million every year.
