A 47-year-old woman has been rescued after falling down a steep wooded bank at Otley's Chevin Forest Park.

She suffered a suspected broken leg in the incident, where members of the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team had to rig up a technical rope system.

A comment on the team's Facebook page stated: "Due to the steep, densely wooded and slippery location, the team used a rope system with four ‘barrow boys’ attached to the Bell stretcher to evacuate the casualty, some 125 metres down the hillside to the road below and the waiting ambulance."

The four-hour rescue involved 15 volunteer rescue team members.
