More than 50,000 passengers are set to fly from Leeds Bradford Airport over the bank holiday weekend.

It's going to be the busiest ever weekend, as people go in search of a last-minute summer holiday or weekend break.

Popular destinations for families are Spain, Portugal, the Canary Islands and Greece.

Paris, Amsterdam, Budapest and Prague are top of the list for city breaks.

Airport bosses say they've also seen significant demand for flights across the UK to London, Belfast, Southampton and Scotland.

In addition, an increasing number of overseas visitors are now flying into Yorkshire.

Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport's Aviation Development Director, said: "Leeds Bradford's growth in passenger numbers continues to prove that Yorkshire holidaymakers and travellers want to fly close to home, rather than having to risk traffic delays and congestion on the motorway network flying from other airports.

"With our wide choice of destinations and airlines linked to our continued investment in our passenger facilities, we are increasingly becoming the first choice for travellers wishing to fly abroad on holiday or for a city break."
