VIDEO: Footage captures Malham Cove waterfall

Parts of North Yorkshire have been hit by flooding as the after-effects of Storm Desmond continue to hit the country.

Settle, Ingleton and Bentham were among the areas affected over the weekend.

At Malham Cove, amateur video footage captured something which residents say hasn't been seen in living memory - the sight of a waterfall.

Alan Hulme, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Head of Ranger Services, said: "I have lived here for 30 years and I've never seen anything like this before. It was an amazing sight.

"Some people are saying there hasn't been a waterfall over the top since the 1700s, which shows how rare a thing it is."
