A 70-year-old man from Otley has died after a crash involving a bin lorry and a car.

The lorry was heading south towards the pub and a Skoda Fabia was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the lorry, a man aged in his 20s, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with a serious arm injury and the passenger, another man aged in his 20s, was airlifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough with a serious shoulder injury.

The road remains closed for resurfacing work after the carriageway was damaged.
