A Skipton dementia sufferer is encouraging more people to be aware of the condition.

To mark Dementia Awareness Week, Hazel Foster has been speaking to Stray FM.

The 74-year-old was diagnosed with the condition two years ago, and is cared for by her husband Martin. 

Her GP surgery, Dyneley House, has led a number of initiatives to become more dementia-friendly.

It was redecorated with patients in mind, and is now helping other GP practices do the same.

It also recently worked with an organisation called 'Making Space' to hold an information event for relatives and carers. 

Stray FM's Lisa Darvill first spoke to Hazel and her husband Martin around 12 months ago.
