Thorp Perrow Gardens & Arboretum

What is it?

Covering 100 acres, Thorp Perrow Arboretum is  a beautiful garden filled with rare and interesting trees, shrubs and plants - but they're more than that.

The Arboretum hosts a Bird of Prey & Mammal Centre where visitors can enjoy fascinating flying displays; see and feed a range of fluffy Mammals; and get hands-on with the Wallabies in their walkthrough paddock.

There’s also an adventure play glade and many secret play areas and dens hidden throughout the Arboretum.

There's also a gorgeous Tearoom which serves a range of delicious locally-produced lunches, snacks and yummy sweet treats. Kids have their own menu too!

What makes it a Top Summer Day Out?

Thorp Perrow is a great summer day out because there’s something for everyone to enjoy: peaceful walks in beautiful surroundings; fascinating Bird of Prey flying displays and mammals to feed and stroke; delicious lunches and tasty treats to be enjoyed al fresco in the sunshine; and the chance to run wild and free in the adventure play glade and find the secret hidden play areas.

The Arboretum is stunning during the summer months as flowers bloom throughout the 100acres and wildlife abounds.

The Mound – planted especially for wildlife is a haven for butterflies and the Millennium Pond area hums with dragonflies and damselflies.

Are there special events?

The Thorp Perrow diary of events is packed during the summer months!

There’s loads going on for families: the summer trail, Family Fun Day, and a day dedicated to minibeasts!

There’s also their ‘Party Under the Stars’ events – a series of open-air evening concerts where they welcome some fantastic acts for a great night of dancing, singing and laughing with friends and family.

This year there's a Mr Swing – covering some swing, jazz and big band hits; and brilliant tributes to Abba, Take That, Queen and Michael Jackson.
