Expected disruption for the UCI Road World Championships 2019

With the World's best riders descending on Harrogate and the surrounding areas from 21st - 29th September 2019, along with over one million visitors, there will be some disruption to everyday life.

This guide brings together everything we know about how life in God's Own County will be affected during Yorkshire 2019.

School Closures & Changes

Due to the closure of public roads and the timings of the races, there are a number of schools that will have to change their timings or even close for some of the weekdays during Yorkshire 2019.

North Yorkshire County Council has been working with schools to keep disruption to a minimum.

You can find the full list of changes to schools during the UCI Road World Championships here.

NHS Changes and Disruption

Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust has been working with organisers of Yorkshire 2019 and local governing bodies to minimise the disruption that the event will cause to their services. Planning has been under way for over a year.
