The River Wharfe may have fallen back to more normal levels following the Boxing Day floods.

But there were plenty of signs in Otley this morning of what the town had been through.

Council teams were out in Wharfemeadows Park cleaning up some of the debris.

A wall near the bowling club had collapsed, whilst a layer of mud and sand had been deposited over the outdoor play area where part of the safety flooring had been folded clean in two.

An abandoned BMW could been seen on Farnley Lane, amid reports that it had been picked up and carried by floodwater out of a side street.

Elsewhere, iron railings had been ripped from their foundations.
